2. Competition (Item 2)
Early Bird Prize, Electrify Your Life! Expo 2026
3. Entry Period (Item 3)
Entries open: 27 July 2026, 12 pm; and
Entries close: 30 September 2026, 11:59pm.
4. Entry Procedure (Item 4)
4.1. The Entrant must:
4.1.1. Book their free Expo Pass through the Electrify Your Life! Expo 2026 within the promotion period; and
5. People who book Expo passes within this period will automatically be included in the draw. Draw Detail (Item 5)
5.1. The Promoter will draw the winner through a random picker on 1 August 2026, by 5pm or close of business day.
6. Winner Notification (Item 6)
6.1. Winners will be notified via call and email on 2 August 2026, Friday by 5pm or close of business day.
7. Prize (Item 7)
7.1. The Prize means a $3,000 store credit at a bike shop of your choice from the list to be provided (to the winner) by City of Boroondara.
8. Special Conditions (Item 8)
8.1. To claim the prize, the winner of the Early Bird Prize must attend on the event day 11 October 2026, 10:30am-3:00pm, present a valid ID and their digital or printed copy of the Expo Pass.
8.2. Entrants must be age 16 and above.
8.3. If the winner is under 18 years of age, a parent or guardian must be present at the time of claiming to provide consent.
8.4. The Winners agree to participate as required in promotional activities relating to the Competition, including but not limited to, being interviewed and photographed. The Winners agree to grant to the Promoter a perpetual and non-exclusive licence to use such footage and photographs in all media worldwide.
Terms
1. Definitions:
Business Day means Monday to Friday (inclusive) excluding Victorian and national public holidays.
Competition means the competition specified in Item 2.
Entrant means any person who enters or purports to enter the Competition.
Entry means an Expo Pass booking through Sustainable Boroondara’s Humanitix page during the promotional period.
Entry Period means the period specified in Item 3.
Entry Procedure means the procedure specified in Item 4.
Immediate Family Member means a person’s spouse, ex-spouse, de facto spouse, parent or step-parent, child or step-child (whether natural or by adoption), grandparent or step-grandparent, sibling or step-sibling, first cousin, uncle, aunt, niece or nephew.
Item means an item in the Schedule of these Terms.
Personal Information has the same meaning given to that term in the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic).
Prize means the prize as specified in Item 7.
Promoter means Boroondara City Council as specified in Item 1 and includes any employees, agents or volunteers of Boroondara City Council.
Schedule means the schedule at the start of these Terms.
Special Conditions means the special conditions in Item 8.
Terms and Conditions means these terms and conditions as amended from time to time.
Winner means an eligible Entrant randomly selected from the Competition to receive a Prize.
Winner Notification means the procedure specified in Item 6.
2. Acceptance of Terms and Conditions
2.1. By entering the Competition, you, as the Entrant, acknowledge and agree that:
2.1.1. information on how to enter and the conditions of entry form part of these Terms and Conditions;
2.1.2. participation in the Competition is deemed acceptance of the Terms and Conditions;
2.1.3. all Items may be subject to further conditions contained in attached clauses;
2.1.4. all costs associated with entering the Competition remain the responsibility of each Entrant; and
2.1.5. all details provided by the Entrant are true and accurate.
3. Eligibility
3.1. Entrants must be at least 16 years of age and above to enter the Competition.
Entrants under the age of 18 years old must provide parental or guardian consent to enter the Competition. If Entrants under the age of 18 years old do not obtain parental or guardian consent, their Entry will be deemed invalid.
3.2. Employees of the Promoter and Immediate Family Members of employees of the Promoter are ineligible to enter the Competition.
3.3. Entries will be deemed invalid if:
3.3.1. the Entry does not satisfy the eligibility criteria specified in this clause 3; or
3.3.2. the Promoter considers the Entry, in the Promoter’s absolute discretion, to be offensive or inappropriate.
4. How to Enter
4.1. The Entrant must follow the Entry Procedure specified in Item 4 to the extent that Item 4 is not inconsistent with these Terms and Conditions.
4.2. Entries will be deemed invalid if submitted outside of the Entry Period specified in Item 3.
4.3. Each Entrant will only be granted one Entry into the Competition.
4.4. Entrants must elect to enter by:
4.4.1. Booking an Expo Pass through the Electrify Your Life! Expo 2026 Humanitix Page within the promotional period: 27 July 2026, 12pm, until 30 September 2026, 11:59pm.
5. Draw Detail
5.1. The Promoter will draw Winners following the procedure specified in Item 5.
5.2. The Promoter reserves the right to draw reserves in case of an ineligible Entrant.
5.3. Where applicable, the Promoter will appoint a judge (or judges) at its absolute discretion. The judge (or judges’) decision is final and binding on the Entrant.
6. Winner Notification
6.1. The Winners will be notified by the procedure specified in Item 6.
6.2. The names of the Winners will be published on the Boroondara City Council’s promotional materials including website, social media and/ other publications.
6.3. While the Promoter will use best endeavours to contact the Winners, a Winner will forfeit the Prize in whole, and another Entrant will be drawn by the Promoter to win the Prize, if:
6.3.1. the Winner fails to respond within 10 Business Days of receiving notice under clause 6.1; or
6.3.2. the Winner cannot be reasonably identified or notified and reasonable endeavours to identify or notify the Winner were unsuccessful.
6.4. Winners of the subsequent draw will be notified via the procedure in Item 4 within three Business Days of the subsequent draw.
6.5. The Promotor will not be responsible for any notifications that are missed or otherwise not received by the Entrant.
7. Prize
7.1. The Prize is as specified in Item 7.
The Prize is to be paid within one month directly to the winner’s selected bike shop from the list to be provided by the City of Boroondara after the winner advises of their selected bike shop.
The winner must advise the City of Boroondara of their selected bike shop (from a list to be provided) by 1 May 2027 at the latest.
7.2. The Prize value is the recommended retail value in Australian dollars and is correct at the time of printing. The Promoter takes no responsibility for any variations in the value of the Prize.
7.3. The Prize is subject to availability, non‐transferable and not exchangeable. The Promoter is not responsible or liable if for any reason beyond their reasonable control if any element of any Prize is not provided. The Promoter may, subject to State regulations, substitute a different prize of equivalent value in place of any prize referred to in these Terms and Conditions. The Prize does not include any other costs of a personal nature not stated. The Prize must be taken as stated and no compensation will be payable if the recipient is unable to use it as stated.
7.4. The Promoter will not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss) or any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the Prize except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law.
7.5. The Promoter reserves the right to request proof of identity proof of age, proof of residency, and proof of validity of Entry. Proof of identification age, residency or validity of Entry considered suitable for verification is at the absolute discretion of the Promoter. In the event that a Winner(s) cannot provide suitable proof the Winner(s) will forfeit the Prize in whole, and no substitute prize will be offered.
7.6. The judge (or judges) reserve the right not to award a prize to any Entrant, if they are of the opinion that all entries do not have sufficient merit to warrant a prize.
8. Privacy
8.1. By entering the Competition, the Entrant consents to any Personal Information collected being used by the Promoter for the purpose, or directly related purposes, of conducting Competition.
8.2. The Entrant acknowledges and agrees that any Personal Information collected may also be used and disclosed:
8.2.1. to update Council’s customer databases to assist the Promoter in discharging its functions or providing services; and
8.2.2. in the Promoter’s marketing promotions and retail activities, or when exhibiting or publishing submitted entries and such use and disclosure may occur outside of Victoria.
8.3. Any Personal Information collected will not otherwise be disclosed unless permitted or required by law.
8.4. The Entrant acknowledges and agrees that if the Personal Information is not collected, the Entrant may be ineligible to win a Prize.
8.5. Requests to access or amend any personal information collected should be made to the Promoter’s Privacy Officer at Private Bag 1, Camberwell VIC 3124.
9. Release and Indemnity
9.1. To the extent permitted by law, the Entrant releases the Promoter from all claims resulting from any damage, loss or injury incurred by the Entrant arising out of or in connection with the Competition or the Prize, including but not limited to direct or consequential loss, loss of income, loss of opportunity, personal injury or property damage.
9.2. The Entrant must indemnify and hold harmless the Promoter against all claims and liabilities resulting from any damage, loss or injury arising out of or in connection with:
9.2.1. the Entrant’s entry into the Competition;
9.2.2. the Entrant’s collection and use of the Prize;
9.2.3. the Entrant’s act, omission or negligence; or
9.2.4. the Entrant’s breach of these Terms and Conditions.
10. General
10.1. All decisions and actions of the Promoter relating to the Competition or the Prize are exercised at its absolute discretion and are final. No discussions or correspondence with Entrants or any other person will be entered into.
10.2. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any incorrectly submitted, incomplete, late, lost or misdirected entries or, for any technical malfunction of any communications network.
10.3. There are no charges to enter the Competition. Any costs arising directly or indirectly with submissions to the Competition are the Entrant’s responsibility.
10.4. The Promoter reserves the right, at its discretion to:
10.4.1. adjudicate the eligibility of Entrants;
10.4.2. disqualify any Entrant where the Promoter reasonably suspects any unlawful or improper conduct; and
10.4.3. modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the Competition, as appropriate.
10.5. The Promoter is not liable for any loss or damage suffered as a result of the online submission of an Entry. The Entrant is responsible for maintaining original copies of the Entries which are submitted.
