Planning to attend the 2026 Electrify Your Life Expo? We've put together answers to some of the most common questions about the event, including registration, parking and transport, accessibility, exhibitors, information sessions and what to expect on the day.

Event information

  • The Electrify Your Life Expo is a free community event where you can explore ways to reduce energy costs, improve home comfort, and transition to a low-emission lifestyle. Through expert talks, live demonstrations, and hands-on activities, you’ll learn practical steps you can take at home, on the road, and in your daily life.

  • Date: 11 October 2026
    Time: 10 am to 4 pm
    Location: Hawthorn Arts Centre, 360 Burwood Road

  • Yes. Entry to the Expo is free.

  • An Expo Pass is not mandatory. By registering for a free Expo Pass, you will be the first to receive updates and announcements, as well as the Expo program before the day of the event.

    If you register for an Expo Pass before 30 September, you will automatically go into the draw to win a $3,000 e-Bike voucher.

  • No. An Expo Pass is not mandatory for entry.

  • There is something for everyone at the Expo for people of all ages. Stalls, forums and information sessions are suitable for:

    • Homeowners

    • Renters

    • Apartment residents

    • Property investors

    • Families

    • Anyone interested in reducing energy bills and household emissions

  • People of all ages are welcome. Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Program and activities

  • Yes. Exhibitors will be available throughout the event to answer questions and provide information about their products and services. 

  • Yes. Visitors will have the opportunity to view a range of electric vehicles and speak to owners and industry representatives.

  • Many exhibitors, facilitators and speakers can provide general guidance. Some may also offer follow-up consultations after the event.

  • No. First come, first served.

    Queue up at the entrance of the information session location you are after, 5 minutes before the start time.

  • No. First come, first served.

    Queue up at the entrance of the Chandelier Room panel session location, 5 minutes before the start time.

  • Yes. Information about available rebates, incentives and support programs will be available from exhibitors and speakers.

  • Most activities are free. Fundraising activities may have a small cost. Food and coffee are available to purchase from vendors.

    Water is free and available on site, please bring a drink bottle to refill.

Getting there

  • Hawthorn Arts Centre is well serviced by trains and trams:

    Train:

    The closest station is Glenferrie Station (Lilydale, Belgrave, and Alamein lines), located about a 5–7-minute walk from the venue.

    Tram:

    Several tram routes stop nearby:

    • ·Route 16 (Kew – Melbourne University)

    • Route 48 (North Balwyn – Docklands)

    • Route 70 (Wattle Park – Docklands)

    Get off at stops along Glenferrie Road or Burwood Road and walk a few minutes to the Arts Centre.

    • Ride directly to the venue via nearby cycling routes along Glenferrie Road and surrounding streets

    • Free bike parking will be available onsite - 

    Cyclists can take advantage of a complimentary bike tune-up and safety check with Dr Cranky’s during the Expo.

    • On-street parking is available around Glenferrie Road and surrounding residential streets (check signage for time limits)

    • Nearby public car parks include:

      • Central Gardens / Glenferrie Oval area

      • Glenferrie Road shopping precinct parking

    Parking can fill up quickly, so allow extra time or consider public transport.

  • If you’re local, Hawthorn Arts Centre is centrally located and easily accessible on foot from the Glenferrie shopping strip and surrounding neighbourhood.

I have accessibility requirements

We aim to make the Electrify Your Life Expo inclusive and easy to access for everyone.

  • Glenferrie Station (Lilydale, Belgrave, and Alamein lines) is approximately a 5-minute walk from the venue via footpaths along Glenferrie Road.

    • Route 16 (stop 73, near Glenferrie Road and Burwood Road)

    • Route 70 and 75 (stop 32, short walk along Glenferrie Road)

    Footpaths in the area are generally flat, with crossing points along main roads

    • Reserved accessible parking bays are available in the public car park behind the Arts Centre, accessed via Kent Street or Oxley Road 

    • Additional parking is available nearby, though spaces may be limited and time-restricted

    We recommend arriving early if you require accessible parking.

    An accessible drop-off point is available via the entry on Oxley Road.

  • Hawthorn Arts Centre includes:

    • Step-free entry with ramps where required  

    • Wheelchair access throughout the venue

    • Lift access to Level 1

    • Accessible and ambulant toilets

    • Hearing loop available on request

    • Quiet Room

    Assistance animals are welcome.

  • Yes. Public amenities will be available on-site.

  • Yes. A parents’ room is available on-site.

  • Yes. A quiet room is available to visitors and is located on level 1. 

Food and drink

  • Yes. You can enjoy:

    • A fundraising sausage sizzle BBQ, powered by an electric vehicle

    • Coffee van (Don’t forget your reusable cup for $1 off!)

    • Food truck

    • Pedal-powered popcorn and fairy floss

    Alternatively, a large array of food and coffee options are available nearby on Glenferrie Road.

    Don’t forget your reusable cup and water bottle.

Prize draws and competitions

  • Yes. Eligible attendees who register before 30 September will automatically be entered into the draw.

  • The winner will be contacted via phone, SMS and email, 48 hours prior to the event.

  • The winner must attend the Expo Information Desk with:

    • A digital or print copy of their Expo Pass; and (TBC)

    • Valid photo identification.

  • Yes. Eligible attendees may enter the door prize raffle upon arrival at the Expo.

  • When the door prize winners are announced you do not need to be present to claim your prize. A member of our team will contact you if you are a winner. 

Sustainability

    • We encourage you to bring a reusable cup and/or water bottle to the event. There will be free water refill stations on site.

    • The Coffee At Nola Coffee Van is offering a $1 discount for coffees served in reusable cups. 

    • The Boroondara Mug Library will have mugs available for you to use and return if you forget your reusable cup. 

    • Hawthorn Arts Centre will have food (FOGO), recycling and waste bins on site.

    • We encourage attendees to reuse or recycle their paper programs and flyers when they leave the event.

    • The Expo uses renewable energy sources for activities or stalls where possible, such as the solar power stage, activities powered by electric vehicles and a fully electric coffee cart.

    • Attendees are encouraged to download digital programs and event maps using the QR codes at the venue.
